Botox – wrinkles

As a result of the constant facial expressions on our faces, while smiling or surprised, fine wrinkles are formed over time, becoming more visible and more profound. Therefore, botox injections are successfully administered to patients who have over-expression of the upper facial muscles. During the procedure, small doses of the preparation are administered to specific places to eliminate the problem of exaggerated facial expressions, prevent excessive muscle contractions and, as a result, reduce wrinkles: forehead, lion’s wrinkle, or crow’s feet.

Botox reduces the activity of muscles, paralyzes them, and blocks the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine within the nerves. Thanks to this, we immediately obtain the effect of a younger, rested face. The preparation works only where it was administered. When administered well, it does not spread and work on other facial muscles. By administering a specific dose to the muscle, it inhibits its activity, thanks to which our face does not perform such intense facial movements as before the treatment.

Treatment stages

The treatment is preceded by a consultation with an aesthetic nurse. After explaining the course of the entire procedure and excluding contraindications, the patient is asked to fill in a treatment questionnaire. Then the patient sits down on the couch. The doctor carefully looks at the facial expressions, asks the patient to make a few specific faces, and decides where it is best to administer the preparation to achieve a satisfactory treatment effect.

The preparation with botulinum toxin (Azzalure / Bocouture / Botox) is administered with a tiny, sterile, disposable syringe with a thin needle. The process of administering the preparation itself is short, takes about 10 minutes, and is completely painless. There is no need for additional anesthesia.

You should wait about 2 weeks for the full effect of the treatment, while the first effects are visible 2-3 days after the treatment. The effect of botulinum toxin in the body is very individual, but usually, it is 4-6 months. The treatment does not change the facial features and does not completely freeze the facial expressions.

The most common treatment areas

This treatment is usually performed in the area of ​​the upper face, i.e. forehead wrinkles, lion’s wrinkles, crow’s feet or nose wrinkles. Botox is also successfully used to gently lift the eyebrows, which gives the effect of a rested face.

Post-treatment recommendations

After the treatment with botox, you should not make sudden, bending movements for a period of about 4 hours. It is not recommended to massage the treated areas or drink alcohol. You should also avoid lifting heavy items. You should also not use the sauna, solarium, swimming pool or gym on this day.

Additionally, it is recommended that people constantly taking herbs such as St. John’s wort, calendula, chamomile, and vitamin E should stop taking them 10 days before the procedure. In order to avoid a smaller treatment effect.
